Metallics were all the rage in the late 1990s and very early 2000s. We wore shiny pants, tank tops, headbands — if you metalicized it, we wore it (and yes, I just made ‘metalicize' a word).
Named Y2K fashion, the trend started as an homage to the future and the new technology we were all looking forward to embracing in the ‘00s. These days, we prefer to keep the metallics off of our clothes and strictly part of actual electronics.
