Is James Franco an Unfit Grad Speaker?

James Franco is one of the keynote speakers for UCLA's June 12th graduation ceremony. James graduated from UCLA with a degree in English with a concentration on creative writing last year and has been invited back to congratulate and motivate the class of 2009. But not all students are excited to have the famous (and adorable) actor as their speaker. Senior Erin Moore felt so strongly about it that she made a Facebook group called "UCLA Students Against James Franco as Commencement Speaker." So far there are over 600 members in the group

On the page she writes, "James Franco has been chosen as the speaker for the College of Letters and Sciences Commencement Ceremony for 2009. Clearly, this is ridiculous. Anyone who has been in his classes knows he is an average student at UCLA. This is an accomplishment while working in his industry, but he is our academic peer, which makes him an inappropriate choice for a keynote speaker." Average student? He falls asleep in class!

What do you think? Would you want James Franco as your keynote speaker? Sound off now!
