Is 13 too young to be a daddy?

Alfie Patten is 13 and a father. Last week, his girlfriend, Chantelle Steadman, 15, gave birth to a little girl. The teen couple decided against abortion when they found out. Alfie told U.K's The Sun, "I thought it would be good to have a baby." Chantelle didn't know she was pregnant until three months into the pregnancy. The scared parents to-be kept it a secret until Chantelle's swelling belly raised her mom's suspicions.

The young parents are optimistic and told The Sun that they will do the best they can. "We know we made a mistake but I wouldn't change it now. We will be good loving parents," Chantelle said. Alfie added, "I didn't know what it would be like to be a dad. I will be good, though, and care for it."
