Should There Be Stronger Laws To Prevent Dating Abuse?

Chris Brown and Rihanna may have been R&B's golden couple, but they're under some serious heat now. On the night before the Grammy's where both Chris and Rihanna were supposed to perform, Rihanna placed a frantic 911 call to report that Christ had assaulted her. Chris was booked on felony criminal threats charges and posted $50,000 bail after turning himself in to the LAPD.

Who should you turn to if you're ever in an abusive relationship? Several states are enforcing laws to get the word out. A new law in Texas requires all school districts to define dating violence in school safety codes. In Rhode Island, schools are required to teach students about dating abuse and in New York, teenagers can obtain restraining orders in family court.
