Should Schools Ban Gay Couples From Prom?
A high school in Mississippi cancelled their senior prom because a student, Constance McMillen, wanted to bring her girlfriend as her date. They claim that their school policy requires that senior prom dates be of the opposite sex.
The school denied Constance's request and even banned her from wearing the tuxedo she planned on wearing. The school's April 2nd prom was then officially cancelled.
The American Civil Liberties Union demanded that the school district allow the two students to attend prom together, but the school is standing by their statement.
