Are Reality Stars Overpaid?
The stars of The Hills are raking in the dough. Current cast members, Audrina Patridge, Heidi Pratt, and Lo Bosworth get top dollar with $100,000 an episode, according to The Daily Beast. Newcomer Kristin Cavallari is being paid $90K per episode. But that's not all -- when Lauren Conrad was the star of the show, she snagged a cool $125,000 per episode ($2.5 million a year). She also had a stipulation in her contract that stated that no one could beat or equal her salary while she was still on the show. Even the "extras" on the show like Brody Jenner gets $45K per episode.
Besides their paid air time, they also get a hefty check for event appearances. The Daily Beast is reporting that Kristen and her crew get anywhere from $20,000 to $25,000 for a two hour appearance and up to $30K each for a Speidi appearance.
