What's a chumby? It's an alarm clock, an mp3 player, Facebook App, picture frame, email system, weather guru, game portal and on and on and on? Get the point? With over 1,500 widgets, a chumby is a wifi device that helps you keep on top of basically, everything.

How did the idea of chumby begin?
I had the notion back in 2005 for the need for a very simple device and system to enable someone to have all their favorite parts of the internet constantly streamed to them, always on and at a glance -- not having to always dash to your computer and boot it up and launch a browser just to know some piece of information.

What's one widget I have to try?
It?s not technically a widget, but make sure that you launch Pandora ? it can play in the background as you view other stuff on the screen. Check out chumbyland, "screen clean," "I can has cheezburger," panda cam, your own facebook (or flickr) photos, virtual bubble wrap, and some of the accelerometer games, like chumball.

What's your favorite thing about the chumby?
Family photos, clever clocks, weather and streaming internet music are the applications that I use the most -- but there?s always something new (like chumbyland) that captures my imagination.

Are all the widgets free? Will they always be free?
Yes. chumby plans to keep access to your chumby content free by enabling other content providers, including those who are ad-supported, to publish their content to chumby users based upon your interests, e.g., new widgets, games, movie previews, new music, offers, etc.
