Kristen's Prom Tips
That's me in the black dress!
My friend Sam and me
My friend Shelby and me

Hi everyone!
My name is Kristen, and I shall be your trusty guide through the twists and turns of this year's PROM SEASON! Don't fret; I come well-equipped with my own set of dos and don'ts, and plenty of embarrassing personal stories to divulge.

For many people, prom is one wild ride: the dresses, the drama, the DATES! That last thing is sometimes a rather difficult thing to conjure when you attend an all-girls high school like I do. On a similar note, the actual calendar date is an important thing to remember. Handy-dandy Kristen tip #1: Always tell your date the right day of prom. Otherwise, you might end up dateless a week before the big day, like I was last year when I made the mistake of informing my dear friend Josh that prom was on a Saturday (it was actually on a Friday. Bad job, Kristen!).

Prom talk is already beginning to circulate in the halls of my high school. Even today, I was sitting in the cafeteria with my bestie Danielle, and as we gorged ourselves on popcorn, we heard the people at the next table discussing dieting tips in preparation for prom. Although Danielle and I were not motivated enough by their talk to question what we were nibbling on at the time, we were reminded of the very few weeks that separated us from the big day.

Although I'll make a point of mentioning this later, this is an opportune time for Kristen tip #2: NO crash dieting. It's not worth it. Instead, while dress shopping, pick a design that makes you feel especially beautiful NOW, not after you shed the imaginary pounds you think is necessary. I've only visited one store so far, but there was such a variety of dress styles that I believe that it is an actual impossibility to NOT find a perfect prom dress.

But enough about dresses! There will be plentyyy of style blogging later; for now, I just want to introduce myself! Other than being a semi-sliding second semester senior, I also play soccer, write for my school newspaper, work part-time at a bridal and tuxedo store (hence my awesome knowledge of dress types!), and spend far too much time online. I'm definitely looking forward to college next year (and yet, I am not too excited about the letter-frenzy to ensue on April 1st). But there are still so many moments of senior year to savor! Prom, graduation, friends, parties... so much to do, and so little time!

I think this wraps up my very first blog entry. I think that I might have been a little too excited, since I definitely just came close to penning an epic novel. Check out my pictures from last year's prom; please let me know what you think of my dress! Anyone want to offer ideas for this year's look?

Stay stylish, readers!
Love, Kristen
