We asked: "What does it mean when a guy says he needs space?"

He said: "When a guy say he needs 'some space,' it mean he feels he's not getting enough dude time. Dude time could be anything like playing video games, watching sports or going to the mall with his friends. Sure, he could do all of those things with you but when he is with the guys it is very different. Guys need time to just hang and be themselves and not have to worry about the girlfriend being grossed out when he burps loudly or worse… Giving space lets him know you can occupy your time without him and he can still do the things he did before he met you. That makes you a lot cooler to him and he will appreciate that."
