10 Guys Who Just Missed Making Our Crushable 25 List

By  |

Yesterday we posted our 25 Crushable Guys Under 25 List for 2013. If you haven't checked it out yet, you probably should. It's the best list you'll read today, and maybe even in your whole life. The way it works is that every year we choose 25 talented, up-and-coming celebrities under age 25 who we think will be huge in the next year. Unfortunately, because we have a limited number of spots to work with, a lot of guys we like are bound to miss the cut.

These ten guys just missed making the list, for various reasons. Some of them are so young that they haven't had a chance to totally show off what they have up their sleeves yet. Others came in as runners-up in our various fan polls. But don't be sad. Unlike all the guys who aged out of the list by being over 25, these fellas still have a chance. We've got our eye on them, and who knows? Maybe you'll see some of them on our list for 2014.

1. Jaden Smith

Jaden got his breakthrough role in 2006 starring as his dad Will Smith's (you may have heard of him) onscreen son in The Pursuit of Happyness. Since then, he's had the starring role in the recent Karate Kid remake and starred with his dad once again in this summer's After Earth. The 15-year-old also has a budding rap career and was featured on Justin Bieber's single “Never Say Never.” Jaden doesn't have any movie projects set up for the next year quite yet, but we're looking forward to witnessing where his career takes him, and if he can make a name for himself apart from his famous family.

2. Rico Rodriguez

Fans of the hit comedy Modern Family know Rico as wise-beyond-his-years Manny Delgado, Sofia Vergara's onscreen son. Viewers have watched him grow up from a precocious kid to a hilarious teenager, but he's always been able to hold his own against the adult cast. Now 15, Rico's had small roles in various TV and film projects, and he even got to appear as himself in The Muppets. Next up Rico lends his voice to the animated film El Americano: The Movie. Until then we love watching him on our TV sets each week, and we can't wait to see what he does next.

3. Kid President (Robby Novak)

You might know Robby Novak, better known as Kid President, for his adorable interviews with celebrities like Beyonce. His role as Kid President began as a way to promote Freed-Hardeman University's annual benefit dinner, and the rest is history. He's even appeared in a couple of official White House videos. When the Kid President is approved by the Real President, that's a sign of some serious talent. At just 10 years old, Robby's a little young to be called crushable yet, but we think he's awesome.

4. Ross Lynch

Ross came in second place in our Rising Actors poll this year, losing to Avan Jogia by just three percent of the vote. It's clear that Ross has plenty of devoted fans, and he's definitely made a name for himself in the past couple of years as a rising Disney star. Ross stars as Austin in the Disney Channel show Austin & Ally, and he had the lead role in this summer's Teen Beach Movie. 17-year-old Ross even has a role in next year's Muppets Most Wanted.

5. Greyson Chance

Everybody who's anybody these days gets discovered on YouTube. That includes Greyson Chance, whose sixth-grade performance of Lady Gaga's “Paparazzi” became a hit on YouTube a few years ago, and after an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show he was able to record his first album. Greyson's even made TV appearances on FOX comedy Raising Hope. 16-year-old Greyson earned a spot on last year's Crushable 25 but missed making it this time. We're excited to hear what his new music is like, and maybe we'll see him back on the list in 2014.

6. Janoskians

The Janoskians (Just Another Name Of Silly Kids In Another Nation) came in second place on our Rising YouTube Star poll this year, losing to Ian Hecox of Smosh. These five guys from Australia — Beau Brooks, Jai Brooks, Luke Brooks, Daniel Sahyounie, and James Yammouni — are online sensations thanks to their pranks, parodies, songs and dares. They've even released two singles and gone on a world tour.

7. Tye Sheridan

17-year-old Tye has starred with some pretty big actors in the few years he's been acting. His first movie was The Tree of Life with Brad Pitt, and earlier this year we gave him a rave review for his performance opposite Matthew McConaughey in Mud. Tye has a few movies lined up for next year, so we're excited to see where his budding career takes him.

8. Jacob Latimore

Jacob came in second place to Jordan Witzigreuter in our Rising Musicians poll this year. He's been singing and dancing since age 9, taking inspiration from guys like Usher and Michael Jackson. At 17, he's already making a name for himself in the R&B world, and he's also great to his fans, as evidenced by our live chat with him earlier this year.

9. Russell Wilson

Football player Russell Wilson was runner-up in our Rising Athletes poll. The spot ended up going to snowboarder Louie Vito, but we think Russell's great too. He was named the Big Ten Quarterback of the Year his senior year of college, and was made starting quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks at age 23 last year. He also visits the Seattle Childen's Hospital every week, proving he's got a great heart. Keep it up, Russell.

10. Chandler Riggs

You might recognize Chandler as Carl Grimes on AMC's hit zombie series The Walking Dead. He was cast on the show at age 10, and just like Carl has grown up to be a force-to-be-reckoned-with against walkers, Chandler, now 14, has grown to hold his own against his adult co-stars. He's got a couple of roles lined up for 2014, so let's see where his non-zombie career goes from here.
