Tyra Banks to Relive Barack Obama’s Inauguration

Tyra Banks was one of the nearly one million people who were in Washington, DC on January 20, 2009, to watch the inauguration of the first African American president, Barack Obama. During the ceremony, Tyra sat quietly in the general media area, flanked by two bodyguards, as she listened to Obama's inspiring speech and the inaugural poem by Elizabeth Alexander.

That night, Tyra got dolled up and attended the Western Inaugural Ball, one of 10 balls held throughout the city that night. Tyra wore a custom-designed Nicole Miller gown with shoed by Giuseppe Zanotti and jewelry by Kara Ross for this special occasion. The Western Inaugural Ball, which was held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, was a happening party, with performances by husband and wife superstars Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.

Tyra is planning to share this once-in-a-lifetime experience with the viewers of her daytime talk show. On January 29 (that's tomorrow!), Tyra is going to talk about what it was like to experience history in the making.

Even though I'm Canadian, January 20 felt like a very special and important day. It's going to be interesting to see what Tyra says about it, so be sure to tune in!
