Who Could The Twilight Reboot/Spinoff TV Show Be About?

Twilight reboot spinoff TV show the wolf pack rumor Breaking Dawn Part 2 Stephenie Meyer

Remember a few months back when the Twilight cast joked about rebooting Stephenie Meyer‘s franchise once Breaking Dawn, Part 2 comes out? At the time we figured it was just a rumor about studio greed, but now it's gaining traction. Moviehole.net — the same guys who posted the ArmieHammer-as-Batman rumor — reports that, unlike Bella who curled up in a miserable ball after Edward left in New Moon, executives have not given up on their dreams.

Here's all we know so far:

When I was informed an hour or so back that “They’re already onto the [Breaking Dawn] follow-up”, I wasn’t surprised, but naturally intrigued.

Details are skim but apparently Bloody Disgusting’s earlier sources that some sort of ‘reboot’ of the series was in development, were on the money. My contact tells me that they’ve heard everything from a “TV show or film spin-off, merely set in the same world as the one in the movies but not featuring the main trio, is being seriously considered” with “The Wolf Pack, one area of interest”.

I completely support io9's idea that Bella's dad Charlie get an entire crime procedural about him and his mustache, but sadly that does not seem to be the case. I think people are pretty sick of Meyer's sparkly, red-eyed, political vampires at this point, so the idea of focusing on the wolf pack makes a lot of sense. They have their own hierarchies and dynamics that, honestly, are a lot more interesting. While they're supernatural creatures, they're more human than their vampire enemies and are therefore more relatable.

Plus, there's still that rumor that Meyer will put pen to paper once more to write a book about Jacob and Renesmee Cullen. While it'd be difficult to imagine anyone but Taylor Lautner dramatically ripping off his shirt in the rain, it could be a good opportunity to hand that juicy role over to some new upstart and let him play the certainly unorthodox love story with a vampire-human hybrid who ages years in months. If The CW picked it up, it'd made a good complement to Beauty and the Beast.
