Watch Tina Fey Totally Own Rachel Maddow in a Game About Naming Cheeses

Tina Fey Rachel Maddow Tonight Show March 2016

Last night Tina Fey and Rachel Maddow went head-to-head in a game called “Know It All” on The Tonight Show. I have no idea if this is a new game or one Jimmy Fallon has played with other celebrities in the past. (Keeping up with all of his games and shenanigans is a full time job, I swear.) What I do know is that Tina owned Rachel, especially in the part of the game that required them to name cheeses. Rachel may be a fancy Oxford-educated political commentator, but Tina played Liz Lemon and is therefore way more cheese-literate.

The object of the game is to go back and forth naming things in different categories. If one player questions the validity of the other person's answer, they can push the red button and get the judges to research it. Like in Scrabble when someone puts down a word that looks like gibberish, but you look it up and realize that yes, accoutrement is a word, and you should probably open a book more often. In this case, Tina has her response of “wiener dog” questioned in the dog breeds category, because Rachel had already said “dachshund.”

Next up is the rappers category, in which Tina throws Rachel off with the very real (but not necessarily very good) rapper Snow. Then she does a very entertaining dance which you can view over and over again to your heart's content in the GIF above. But the real awesomeness happens when Rachel dares to name “chèvre” as a cheese right after Tina said “drunken goat.” Pfft, nice try. To quote Tina herself, “Chèvre is goat!” BOOM! That's right, you don't mess with the cheese goddess. I hope Tina ate some night cheese later to celebrate her victory.
