Even Though I Think This Trailer Just Gave Away The Entire Movie, I’m Really Excited To See This Is 40

After watching this new trailer for This is 40, I'm actually really excited to see the Knocked Up spin-off starring  Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd as Pete and Debbie, a middle-aged couple trying not to kill each other. Literally. As you'll see when you watch this trailer, they discuss killing each other. And oddly enough it's a sweet scene. But leave it to Paul Rudd to make murder cute.

The Judd Apatow written/directed/produced movie follows the couple that we met in Knocked Up as they navigate the challenges of life. Without the hardships of Katherine Heigl's acting.

Full disclosure, last week I went to a screening of Wet Hot American Summer  in Brooklyn and saw Paul Rudd in person. As someone who still dreams about bumping into him on the street, saying something witty and convincing him to marry me in a secret ceremony in a secret county, I got pretty excited. While we didn't interact, we did watch the movie together. Or I at least watched him, watch himself in the movie. If that doesn't define magical, then I don't know what does.

Needless to say I'm in full Paul Rudd fan mode this week. No matter what he does or what he says, I'll think it's absolutely brilliant. Do keep that in mind.

But even if he doesn't do it for you in the same way he does it for me, the fact that Maude Apatow and Iris Apatow  are  reprising their Knocked Up roles will make your heart smile. Not only is it precious becuase Leslie Mann is their real life mom as well as their movie mom (and because their father Judd Apatow directed them in the film), but also because they're super-cute kids who manage not to come off like Toddler & Tiara contestants — a common problem among child stars.

Still not sold? Okay, try this on for size: Melissa McCarthy is in it.

So sit back, relax and prepare to figure out the entire plot of the movie in the next 2 minutes and 49 seconds. Don't worry about spoilers, because I think you're still going to want to see it.
