The Voice Top Five: Someone Get Adam Levine A Tissue, Because America Just Voted His Best Friend Off
But Adam Levine’s good luck finally ran out when America voted off Team Adam member James Wolpert. Losing James was a big loss for Adam, not just because he’s the first person on Team Adam to be sent home since the live shows began, but also because he’s Adam Levine’s very best friend in the whole wide world. All season long Adam has been fawning over James with the most adorable man crush ever. And the feelings seem to be mutual, with James being equally obsessed with Adam.
However, this week we learned that there’s more than one shomance happening on Team Adam. All of its members seem to have thrown the whole coach-mentee relationship out the window and instead formed one big, adorable best friendship.
In fact, it’s really a drag that they have to stop hanging out together every now and then to compete in a silly singing competition. Really, they’d much rather spend their days eating brunch together. That’s right, these guys have reached the level of friendship where they do brunch. At Adam Levine’s house. What’s next, you ask, meeting the parents?
Hello, they’ve obviously already checked that item off of the friendship list. Tessanne met up with Adam’s mom after her performance this week, and Mama Levine was so moved by Tessanne and Adam’s BFF-ness (or maybe it was Tessanne’s gorgeous rendition of “Bridge Over Troubled Water”) that she was crying. Adorbz.
In other news of note this week, three-time Voice champ Blake Shelton will not be able to four-pete, because his lone team member Cole Vosbury was also voted off, which leaves us with our final three: Tessanne Chin (Team Adam), Will Champlin (Team Adam), and Jacquie Lee (Team Christina).
Even though there are three singers left, it’s pretty much a two-woman race between Tessanne and Jacquie. Will has had some big moments this season (this week being one of them), but these ladies have been killing it week in and week out. My gut tells me Tessanne will take home the crown, but I’m pulling for Team Xtina to get its first win with Jacquie. #GirlPower.
But for now, I'm on Team Everybody, showing all three finalists some love by presenting you with their performances from Monday. Enjoy!
Will Champlin, “Carry On”
Tessanne Chin, “Bridge Over Troubled Water”
Jacquie Lee, “Angel”
