The Obamas Won’t Let Their Daughters Watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians

I love how even when they're dissing the Kardashian sisters and their various reality shows, Barack and Michelle Obama are respectful. In an interview with iVillage about raising her family in the White House, Michelle revealed that she doesn't let daughters Sasha and Malia use the Internet for non-school-related activites during the week, and they're allowed to only watch TV on weekend.

But not those screeching harpies! (Our words, not hers.)

“Barack really thinks some of the Kardashians — when they watch that stuff — he doesn't like that as much, but I sort of feel like if we're talking about it, and I'm more concerned with how they take it in — what did you learn when you watched that. And if they're learning the right lessons, like, that was crazy, then I'm like, okay.”

Bless you, Michelle, for trying to find value in Kourtney & Kim Take New York. We just mock it mercilessly. Still, no Internet for the kids during the week—that's unheard of! What do they do if they're not updating their Facebook and Twitter statuses or posting .gifs on Tumblr? How will they know about Nyan Cat and every amazing cat video?

We blame Katie Holmes‘ movie First Daughter for making us think that the lives of the President's children are as pampered as celebrity children's.

And yes, that is Khloe Kardashian shaking President Obama's hand when she and husband Lamar Odom visited the White House.
