The Festival of Living Pictures

The "Festival of Living Pictures" in Gimore Girls 4.07 "The Festival of Living Art" is so intruiging that I thought I'd seek out the original paintings that inspired this episode. There is a real living art festival held eat year in California called The Pageant of the Masters – the 90 minute living art performance attracts hundreds of thousands of people a year.

Rory was Antea in the painting called "Antea" by Parmigianino, painted between 1531 and 1534. Gilmore Girls names the painting as "Portrait of a Young Girl Named Antea," probably more for descriptive purposes.

This is "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci as it is still shown in Milan, Italy. It was painted between 1495 and 1498:

Lorelai is the woman in the red hat in Pierre-Auguste Renoir's "Dance at Bougival" which was painted from 1882-1883:

This statue is known as "Moissonneur", or "The Reaper", designed by Nicolas Poussin near 1679. It stands in The Versailles Park and Gardens in France:

What do you think? With the exception of the sculpture, which apepars to be a mirror reflection of the original, the renditions are very good in my opinion.
