Taylor Swift And Prince William Sing With Bon Jovi In A Video Designed To Confuse The Masses

I hope you're ready for your morning does of “Who… wait… what… why… is this… huh?” because I have got quite the interesting video for you to enjoy. This Monday night, Prince William hosted the Winter Whites Gala for homelessness charity Centrepoint. The event took place at Kensington Palace and featured a concert from Taylor Swift and Jon Bon Jovi. Pretty American choices for a concert benefiting a British charity, especially since it was the first ever concert at the palace. But okay, I'll go with it.

Taylor was really going with it too. She was quoted as saying, “I don't think I've ever played at a palace before so it is really wonderful.” You see, Taylor was having trouble remembering if she'd ever really played at a palace before because she plays at a palace every night in her dreams. She also happens to be a princess in those dreams. The prince changes a lot, as you'd expect.

Everything seems pretty normal so far, if a little strange. I mean, Taylor Swift and the royal family inhabit very different parts of my brain, and Bon Jovi doesn't really inhabit any part of my brain, so it's throwing me off a little. But then something happened that really threw me off, and that was Taylor and Prince William joining Bon Jovi in a performance of “Livin' on a Prayer.” Before you even ask, yes, Taylor spends the whole video dancing. If you can call what she does dancing. It's more of a flailing. Whenever she gets moving it's like she grows twenty tentacles. She also does that finger heart thing, because ugh.

But seriously, is this video part of some elaborate plan to thoroughly confuse me? First of all, Prince William isn't supposed to sing. He's not drunk Robert Pattinson. He's the Duke of Cambridge. Don't get me wrong, I am loving how down-to-earth he and Kate are, but it just makes my brain work a little extra to understand it. And on top of that Taylor Swift is there? And she gives him a high five (uh oh, take it easy there Swifty)? And they all pretty much shout the song at the top of their lungs even though two of them are professional singers? I don't know how to deal with this.
