The Emmys Finally Woke The Hell Up And Nominated Tatiana Maslany For Orphan Black
The Primetime Emmy nominations were announced this morning. I went into them the same way I go into every nominations announcement for an award show that honors television. By that I mean I was already depressed about Tatiana Maslany not getting a nomination for her incredible performance(s) as several clones on Orphan Black. I've found it's best not to get my hopes up about it, since I'm almost always disappointed.
Welp, apparently going into things assuming the worst actually worked out for the best this time, because it actually happened. Tatiana Maslany was nominated for an Emmy for the third season of Orphan Black. In the immortal words of Alison Hendrix pretending to be Sarah Manning,
This is actual footage of my reaction to seeing Tatiana's name on the list of nominees:
Yeah, that's right. I turned into James McAvoy. I was just that excited.
I think we should all take a moment to appreciate Tatiana's entry on the official nominees page.
That should tell you all you need to know about why she was nominated. I've literally devoted entire posts to listing the reasons Tatiana deserves this, but let me just remind everyone again that she not only has the hardest job on television, but she pulls it off amazingly every episode. And after three years, her performance hasn't lagged. She's just continued adding more clones to her repertoire and pulling off more and more complex scenes between them.
Tatiana herself tweeted about the news this morning, and she remained humble as ever, dedicating the honor to her fans:

Congratulations, Tatiana. No one deserves it more than you.
Of course, now we're going to be biting our fingernails waiting to see if she actually wins, but for now let's just bask in the awesomeness for a while.
