Spoon, Jay-Z, The Allman Brothers, And More On Sale Now

It’s Friday so that means tickets are going on sale! Lots of bands have new albums coming out, so that means they are going on tour: Kings of Convenience, Midlake, Yoko Ono’s We Are Plastic Ono Band, Spoon, Shearwater, The Thermals, and many more. Jay-Z is also coming to town, and the Allman Brothers have announced their annual week-plus of shows, although this year it’s at United Palace instead of the usual Beacon Theatre.

  • Woods Family Creeps, the jam band project of Woods, will be playing at Monkeytown (which closes on January 24!) at 8 and 10 pm on January 18. Tickets
  • Cold War Kids have added another show at Music Hall of Williamsburg on January 23. Tickets
  • Kings of Convenience are at Webster Hall on February 13 (tickets) and the Warsaw on February 14 (tickets)
  • Yoko Ono’s We Are Plastic Ono Band will be appearing at BAM on February 16 to celebrate their new album with the current Plastic Ono Band: Yoko Ono, Cornelius, Yuka Honda, Haruomi Hosono and Sean Lennon, as well as special guests, including former band members Eric Clapton, bassist Klaus Voormann and drummer Jim Keltner, as well as Justin Bond, Kim Gordon, Bette Midler, Thurston Moore, Mark Ronson, Scissor Sisters, Martha Wainwright, Haruomi Hosono, Paul Simon and son Harper Simon.   • Trey Anastasio and Classic Tab will be at Terminal 5 on February 16. Tickets
  • Surfer Blood and Turbo Fruits are at Mercury Lounge on February 28. Tickets
  • Jay-Z is bringing his BP3 tour with Young Jeezy and Trey Songz to Madison Square Garden on March 2. Tickets
  • Danielson, Ortolan, and Ben + Vesper are at Knitting Factory on March 8. Tickets
  • The Allman Brothers Band, who usually have their week-plus long set of shows at the Beacon Theatre are forced to move to United Palace this year because a Cirque du Soleil show called Banana Shpeel will be playing there. The Allman Brothers will be at United Palace on March 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 19, and 20. Tickets
  • Balkan Beat Box are at Webster Hall on March 13. Tickets
  • Hockey is at Bowery Ballroom on March 15. Tickets
  • The Black Lips and Box Elders are at Maxwell’s on March 21 (tickets), Brooklyn Bowl on March 23 (tickets) and Bowery Ballroom on March 24 (tickets).
  • Marissa Nadler is at Littlefield on March 25. Tickets
  • Spoon have a new album coming out and will be playing at Radio City Music Hall with Deerhunter on March 26. Tickets are on presale now (password  = HESPOON) and go on regular sale on Saturday at 11 am. Tickets. If you don’t feel like paying, lead singer Britt Daniel of Spoon will be playing a FREE acoustic set at Sound Fix in Williamsburg on January 23.
  • Shearwater and Wye Oak are at Bowery Ballroom on March 27. Tickets
  • Miike Snow and Delorean have added a third show, this time at Bowery Ballroom on March 28. Tickets
  • Delorean and Lemonade are at Mercury Lounge on March 29. Tickets. Lemonade is also playing a show with Tanlines at Monster Island Basement on March 5. No advance tickets.
  • Midlake, who have a new album coming out, will be at Bowery Ballroom on April 7 and 8. Tickets
  • Pissed Jeans are Knitting Factory on April 9. Tickets
  • The Wedding Present play their 1989 album “Bizarro” at Maxwell’s on April 10 and Bowery Ballroom on April 11. Tickets
  • Kaki King is at Music Hall of Williamsburg on April 15 and Bowery Ballroom on April 16. Tickets
  • The Thermals are at Brooklyn Bowl on April 20. Tickets
  • Quasi (feat. ex-members of Sleater Kinney) have a new album coming out and will be at  Bowery Ballroom on April 22. Tickets
  • Hot Chip have added a second show at Terminal 5 on April 23 with Gang Gang Dance opening. Tickets
  • Amazing guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela will be at none other than Radio City Music Hall on April 29. Tickets
