I Wish Sofia Vergara Would Emphasize Her Sense Of Humor Instead Of Her Sex Appeal Sofia Vergara Esquire jpg

Sofia Vergara is sexy. She has a great body and she has great cleavage. There’s no point in denying it. I just don’t get why we’re always talking about it. With the exception of discussing her role as Gloria on Modern Family, she’s always depicted as a sex symbol, her boobs popping out of her dresses and onto magazine covers. This month’s Esquire  is no different, but it doesn’t make it any less disappointing.

As a huge Modern Family fan, I know how funny Sofia Vergara can be when she wants to be. She continues to crack me up every week as Gloria, the young, hot stepmom with a Colombian accent. Her inability to pronounce words is a joke that should get old, but somehow never does.

And it’s not just her accent that makes Gloria funny. It’s Sofia Vergara’s approach toward the role as well as her willingess to experiment with physical comedy. She never seems scared to go all out if it will make a scene that much better.

Take this compilation for example:

If she’s so funny, I don’t understand why she never emphasizes that in interviews. Her message always seems to be “I’m sexy and I have sex” and this month’s Esquire interview is no different. Nowhere in the interview does she really discuss her career, where it’s going and what it’s like to work on one of  TV’s most popular shows.

Instead she says things like, “Look, if you’re sexy, if you like dressing sexy, you’re not doing anything more than feeling beautiful. A Latina just wants to walk into a place and feel great. ”

That’s great and it’s true, but it’s not the whole story. She’s a lot more than her cleavage and her sex appeal and I wish she would start talking about that too. She owes it to herself and she owes it to other talented women who there who want to be respected for more than their boobs.
