In The Greatest News Ever Snoop Dogg Thinks Game Of Thrones Is Historically Accurate Snoop Dogg smoking gif

You know that thing where a celebrity just hands you their stupidity on a silver platter and is like, “Here, I thought you might like this. It’ll make mocking me a lot easier.” And you gasp and put your hand to your mouth like you’ve just been proposed to, and tears fill your eyes, and you just tell them, “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” a million times. Yeah, Snoop Dogg (Snoop Lion? Snoopy?) just did that to me, and I’m eternally grateful.

Snoop gave a recent interview to the New York Post in which he explains that he’s a fan of Game of Thrones. However, he doesn’t watch it for the captivating drama or the intricate costume design or even the boobies. He watches to learn about history. Obviously:

“I watch it for historic reasons, to try to understand what this world was based on before I got here. I like to know how we got from there, to here, and the similarities between then and now.”

That’s right, folks. Not only does Snoop Dogg think that fantasy series Game of Thrones is historically accurate, but that’s the whole reason he’s watching. Just to remind everyone at home, Game of Thrones is a fictional story based in a fictional world. A world with dragons, which are fictional.

I can think of four reasons Snoop Dogg said this:

  1. He’s just stupid.
  2. He was really, really high. (Oh, who am I kidding? That’s a given.)
  3. He was joking.
  4. He’s never actually watched the show, but based on trailers it looks kinda historical.

Whatever the explanation, let’s never forget the similarities Snoop then outlines as existing “between then and now,” specifically:

“That kings still rule and a bitch f - - ked everything up, in every situation!”

The interviewer’s response to that is everyone’s response: “Hmmm. I see.”

Hmmm. I see, Snoop Dogg. Hmmm. I see.
