The 10 Best Moments From The 2013-2014 Season Of SNL, In GIFs

By  |

I have to say, one of my favorite things about my job here is getting to watch and recap Saturday Night Live.  My second favorite thing about this job is watching the look on my friends' faces when I tell them I get paid to do it.  That being said, the 2013-2014 season was one of the more memorable season of late, for a variety of reasons: Tina Fey‘s season premiere was a total flop, the cast changed dramatically from last season–especially with the mid-season addition of Sasheer Zamata, and the show continued to live even after Seth Meyers left (although it had a rocky first Seth-less episode).  SNL has that way of re-charging and shifting gears every few years, and I'm truly looking forward to next season.

I'd love to hear your favorite SNL moments from this season – mostly because I'm sure I forgot one or two major sketches, and partly because I enjoy hearing what other people find funny.  While I'm kind of bummed my Sundays are void of Hulu clips for the entire summer, it was fun re-visiting the following moments.  Enjoy!

10. Josh Hutcherson as Lil' Peanut

Josh Hutcherson is the cutest, pint-sized rapper you've ever seen.  Admit it.

9. Kerry Washington Asks, ‘What Does My Girl Say'?

Sometimes I forget that Kerry Washington has talents beyond lingering stares and shaky, grovel-y monologues and that she's super talented and also hilarious, as this sketch proved.

8. The most accurate Scandal parody ever

Oh hey, speaking of those lingering stares!  This Scandal parody was a.) overdue and b.) totally on-point.  Also, after this season I think Taran Killam might be on my freebie list.

7. All things Jebediah Atkinson

Every time Jebediah appeared on Weekend Update, I completely forgot that I don't really like care for Colin Jost as co-anchor.

6. Leonardo DiCaprio plays the Jack to Jonah Hill's Rose

Because seeing the usually pretty douchey stoic Leo have fun and enjoy having a sense of humor was even better than seeing him re-create the moment that defined my “not a girl, not yet a woman” phase.

5. Anna Kendrick makes all of our grown-up Disney dreams come true

I could watch Anna Kendrick do pretty much anything, not gonna lie.  Aidy Bryant as Ursula was my favorite part, though.

4. Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon bromance all over Family Feud

These two are in true love, and it's never been more apparent than during this sketch.  I am also a sucker for sketches that feature a bunch of cast members impersonating a bunch of celebrities.

3. Paul Rudd is One Direction's #1 Fan

God, this was amazing.  Paul Rudd (also on my freebie list, regardless of the fact that he's barely over five feet tall) was so serious, and so hilarious as a One Direction fan I think I watched this clip six or seven times.

2. The Vogelcheck Family Reunion

Because everyone loves a former-SNL-cast-member-reunion, and the Vogelchecks were always one of my favorite recurring sketches. This made me LOL so hard, you guys.

1. The Beygency Will Come For You

So. Well. Done.  Andrew Garfield was a great host throughout this entire episode, and I really think this might have been the best sketch I've seen in years.
