The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants Had A Brunch Reunion, But The Pants Weren’t Invited

By  |

Yesterday the cast of the one of the greatest cinematic masterpieces of the past decade reunited over the greatest meal ever invented — brunch. That masterpiece was The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and the cast was Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, Blake Lively and Amber Tamblyn. Amber posted a photo of the four of them on her Instagram page, captioning it, “Brunch with my best bitches. #sisterhood.” Everything's better with a hashtag.

I assume the pants weren't invited, since they're not pictured. That's a real shame. I mean, they were the title character. They worked very closely with all these ladies. They deserve to be there. Unless maybe… Oh dear, I haven't heard from them in a while. Did they… did they die? Or did they just get donated to a Goodwill and fall off the radar? It's so hard to keep track of this stuff. I'll have to do some Googling later today. What a tragedy that would be. They were so young.

Anyway, back to the ladies. As a fan of both the Traveling Pants books and their movie adaptations, this reunion warms my heart. I could relate to each and every one of their characters in different ways growing up. Well, except for Bridget (aka Blake Lively). I was neither athletic nor flirty in my adolescence, so I didn't really have anything to latch onto there. Sorry, Bridge. Nice hair, though.

If you're wondering whether the rest of Ann Brashares' books series will be adapted into movies, you'll be excited to learn that a third movie, based on the fifth and final installment, has been announced. Yay! But the cast has yet to confirm their involvement. Nay! Come on, ladies, what else do you guys have to do? You clearly enjoy each other's company, so just say you'll do it already. The fifth book takes place when all the girls are grown up, so it's not like you'll be playing teenagers again. DO IT. Or does #sisterhood mean nothing to you?
