Seth Rogen and Justin Bieber Squashed Their “Beef” so We Can All Sleep Peacefully Tonight
The time was early 2014, and the war on Justin Bieber was at an all-time high. Bieber fever had turned into the Bubonic Plague of Pop Stars (I just made that up.. no, I really did.) because he went from adorable child prodigy with songs about young love to a terror (reckless driving, throwing eggs at peoples' houses, DUI arrests, I could go on and on…) and the world basically hated him, with good reason.
Though he's still acting questionably these days, he seems to be trying REALLY hard to repair his image. I can't tell if he's genuinely growing up and maturing, because it always seems to be two steps forward, three steps back with this one.
But, he's trying. And this week on Ellen is Bieber Week, so naturally, we kind of have to deal with the fact that he's not going anywhere any time soon. Seth Rogen stopped by the show to discuss his upcoming movies, and Ellen probed him about the Great Social Media War of 2014 (not a thing, not a thing at all) in which he called the Biebs a piece of shit on Twitter.
Seth had this to say:
We had a “beef,” I guess you would say. I don't know, that's the word the kids use. It wasn't really a beef, I just called him some really mean things on social media for no real reason, and I only met him very briefly. It was really just something I can't tell you why I did it. I was inclined to do it in that moment, and then I did it. And then it really hurt his feelings, as it should have, and a lot of people got very mad at me. And, all of this time I had only met him once, very briefly, and it was honestly a very pleasant interaction. And I finally saw him today in the hallway of your show and I guess we made up, which is fantastic.
He also quipped: “In light of recent photos I want him on my side.” Touche, Seth.
Well, I guess we can all sleep peacefully tonight knowing these two gentlemen have squashed their beef.
