Do you know drama? Like, are you good friends? Do you watch its kids for it on date night? Were you in its wedding? Well, TNT knows drama. Probably better than you do. It’s in their very slogan. So as a leading expert on drama, they’re logically going to give us a lot of dramatic shows. And this latest one looks extra-dramatic, in the best way.

It was just announced that the new TNT show Legends has gotten the greenlight and received a 10-episode series order. And they didn’t just tell us about it and go on their merry way, off to get to know drama better. They also provided a trailer for the show, and I for one am pretty excited about it. There are a number of reasons for this, but the main one is that Sean Bean is on it. That’s right. Sean Bean, aka Boromir, aka Ned Stark, aka [insert any other Sean Bean role you’re partial to here]. As a fan of Lord of the Rings and a recent binge-watcher of Game of Thrones, I think it’s safe to say Mr. Bean (not that one) is a modern-day legend of screen and… smaller screen. So it’s appropriate that he’s on a show called Legends. But it’s mostly just appropriate that he’s on a show at all, because he’s Sean Bean.

In the show, Mr. Bean (I refuse to stop) plays Mark Odum, an undercover agent for the FBI who transforms himself into different people for his job, but eventually starts to question his own identity when a stranger suggests he’s not who he thinks he is. There’s nothing like a little paranoia mixed with conspiracy theory to hit the right TV sweet spot. As you can see from the trailer, there’s a lot of drama involved.

If you need more convincing, the show’s based on a book by Robert Littell and it’s from the executive producers of Homeland, which is the most important show to ever exist, or so I’ve heard. And Ali Larter took a break from teaching Elle Woods about exercise to star in it. Also also also Tina Majorino is in it, making all my Andre dreams come true. TNT’s programming might not always win a lot of awards, but it’s quality entertainment, so I’m rooting for this show to be good. Plus, did I mention the DRAMA?

The only problem is that we’ll have to wait until 2014 to experience this drama. But for now, enjoy the trailer below.
