Scout Willis Is Wandering NYC Topless To Protest Getting Kicked Off Instagram (NSFW)

Scout LaRue Willis attending Nylong Magazine Young Hollywood Issue Party May 2014I was worried that we might get through the day without a Mad Libs-style headline, but I needn't have worried, because Scout Willis spent yesterday wandering New York City with no shirt on in an attempt to protest Instagram's decency guidelines. Let's dive into this.

In case you're not incredibly familiar with Scout, she's the middle child of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, trailblazers in the celebrity ‘name your kids weird things' movement. (Scout's sisters are named Rumer and Tallulah, and her own middle name is LaRue.) Anyway, Scout has had some particular trouble of late with Instagram, an app constantly and notoriously embroiled in a war on nipples. Any time they see them, or really any body part that they deem inappropriate, in a photo, said photo is flagged and removed, no matter the context or the content.

It's a rule that's rankled everyone from Rihanna to Cody Simpson in the past, but it's consistent, and once you get the hang of it, it doesn't bother too many people. Unless of course you're Scout Willis and have a pressing and all-consuming desire to put your breastesses on the interweb. And if you are, then hey — no shame in that. Keep on fighting the good fight.

As Jezebel points out, Scout's original Insta-troubles began when she uploaded a photo of herself wearing a sweatshirt she'd designed called ‘The Babe Bomber', depicting two topless women on the front. When that photo was pulled, she announced her intent to flood her feed with artsy fartsy pictures of naked women, and if people didn't like it, they didn't have to follow her.

She created the new account, listed her name as Scout (Areola) Willis…

…and promptly got shut right back down. So she's striking back the only way she knows how — by roaming the city topless, which is legal, even though it's ILlegal to then put those photos on Instagram.

THIS IS HAPPENING. VIVA LA NIPPLE.
