Wait, Is Ryan Seacrest Gay? And Is Chelsea Handler Our Hero For Asking?

By  |

American Idol Season 12 Premiere Event, Los AngelesLeave it to Chelsea Handler to ask that question that we might've maybe been wondering about behind closed doors — is Ryan Seacrest maybe possibly allegedly gay? Chelsea had Ryan on her show, Chelsea Lately, presumably to promote money and its acquisition, which sometimes he calls by the name American Idol. Their conversation started out pretty normal, talking about the silly silly hijinks of Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, who were all about the diva eye-rolls and catty snarking. But ever the optimist, Ryan thinks that they'll be able to put their differences aside. And if all else fails, he'll just put them into a person-sized cage together and drape an expensive pashmina over the top so they'll shut up. Just like you do with parrots.

Chelsea: “So let's talk about Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj…do you think that they'll ever be close friends?”

Ryan: “I think that there's hope. They actually did a song together before American Idol, and since they've come to work and disagreed about a thing or two, here or there, but now, today, they're fine.”

He does, however, feel bad for Keith Urban, who he calls “a great musician and very, very talented”, for the fact that the producers made him sit in between them. He doesn't feel sorry for Randy Jackson at all, maybe because he figures he can hold his own after this many seasons. All he has to say about Randy is, “My dog is the diffuser.” No, Ryan, we're talking about Randy Jackson, not the expensive purebred dog that you hollowed out and installed a machine inside to diffuse the atoms in your mansion.

It wasn't long, however, before the topic turned to that sneakiest and most off-limits of topics, Ryan's sexuality. Never known for her tact or discretion — and thank god for that — Chelsea dove right in, asking Ryan about his girlfriend, Julianne Hough:

Ryan: “She’s so beautiful — stunning, stunning. She is phenomenal; she is the best part of everyday.”

Chelsea: “That's nice! So she's 25…and I know that you want to get married and have a family.

Ryan: “We both do.”

Chelsea: “Yeah, so…what's going on?”

Ryan: “She'll be the first one to know. And I guess the other question is, when are you getting married?”

Chelsea: “I’m not getting married, I’m not interested in that. I don’t have to prove to anyone that I’m straight!”

Awwww shit, girl! You guys are on E! together! How are you getting away with that! And prior in the conversation she'd slipped another little jab in, saying that “A lot of women seem to be fighting over you, men and women, I guess.” This lady must have the best lawyers on the network, to be able to poke fun at the moneyman like that. We don't even have the balls for that over here on Crushable, as much as we may wonder, ourselves.

Ahem. Allegedly.
