Eva Mendes Says Ryan Gosling Is A Good Dad, And I’m Like, ‘Prove It’

Eva Mendes at the Toronto Film Festival 2012 for The Place Beyond The PinesIn case there was any lingering doubt in your minds as to Ryan Gosling‘s inherent perfection, it turns out he's really great with kids, too. He already has fangirls across the globe getting their panties in a twist by breaking up a fight on the street, sending an adorable autograph to a teenager girl, and saving a stranger from being hit by a car, but Eva Mendes had to take it one step further and force us all to imagine Ryan carrying around a baby, too. The real-life couple played parents in The Place Beyond The Pines, and when asked if Ryan is good with children, she says:

“He’s really good. He loves babies and he loved playing with the little boy we used in the film to play our son. It was adorable to see him in that light. There’s one intense scene in particular where everyone has been screaming, including the baby. The beauty of that scene comes when Ryan picks up the baby and he immediately quietens down and starts to fall asleep on him. That’s just magical.”

Yup, almost as magical as my ovaries clapping together in glee, which I'm pretty sure is happening inside my body right now. It's a pretty strange sensation. And apparently that magic trick with the baby wasn't a one-off thing, either, with the baby quieting down as soon as Ryan picked him up:

“That happened a lot, too. We did a lot of takes and that was one of the most beautiful moments in the film, because babies don’t act.”

First of all, I'm gonna ignore the fact that you just insulted infants worldwide, and assume that you'll send that E-Trade baby an Edible Arrangement or a gift certificate to JCPenney or something. He's the face of acting babies, but there are many successful infants in the world, and they can do whatever they put their mind to. Just look at Newt Gingrich! But regardless, I'm gonna need these two to start procreating right away, so I can be blinded by their gloriously attractive spawn. Hopefully that will give me some kind of closure from my own constant and ongoing Ryan Gosling-themed daydreams.
