The Trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Is Here, Because There’s Never Enough Star Wars
Those of you feeling bummed that we won't get to see Episode VIII until 2017 can rest easy, because we're still getting a new Star Wars movie this year. It's just a spin-off. But spin-offs can be really good sometimes! (See: Frasier.) The movie's called Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and according to E! News, it takes place right before the events of Episode IV: A New Hope, aka the original movie. The first teaser trailer premiered on Good Morning America this morning, and if you ask me, it looks pretty rad.
I totally fell into the whole “STAR WARS HELLZ YEAH!!!!1!!!!1!1!!!” obsession after I saw The Force Awakens, so I'm totally down for this. Especially considering there's another female hero at the forefront to make the fanboys cry. In this case it's Felicity Jones' character Jyn Erso, a badass who says badass things like, “This is a rebellion, isn't it? I rebel.” And that's exactly what she's going to do as she assists in an effort to steal the Empire's plans for the Death Star. Sounds good to me! The movie's supporting cast includes Diego Luna, Mads Mikkelsen and Forest Whitaker.
Another standalone movie will also be produced that will depict Han Solo's origin story. The casting of young Han Solo has been a buzzed-about topic, so let's hope they get it right. Until then, let's focus our energy on Rogue One, which will be released December 16 of this year. Are you ready for another holiday season spent in a galaxy far, far away? I know I am. I mean, I only have so many places to wear that Christmas-themed Darth Vader shirt I bought. Give me as many December Star Wars movies as can be produced and I'll feel like I got my money's worth.
