Rob Lowe Gets Emotional On Who Do You Think You Are? And It’s Really Funny

Last night before I went out, I happened to catch Who Do You Think You Are? on NBC. Normally I wouldn't watch the show, but it was on for more of background noise while I tried to figure out what I was going to wear. For those of you who missed it, it was Rob Lowe‘s turn to see from where he and his ancestors come.

Lowe's search led him to the realization that he's a descendant of a Patriot of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and due to this “proven lineage,” he can join the National Society of the Sons of the Revolution. As he read these pieces of information out loud, all while he sat dramatically next to a perfect fireplace, Lowe became emotional. However, thanks to his character on Parks and Recreation, watching him become struck with awe, sensitive then covering it up with an Anderson Cooper-type giggle is actually hilarious. While the realization that his ancestor chose to be an American Patriot as opposed to going back to Germany is probably, I guess for some people, moving, trying to separate Lowe from Chris Traeger was an impossible task! Instead of feeling for the guy, all I could do was laugh and laugh and, sadly realize I will never ever be able to take him seriously again. The man could be giving a eulogy and I'd still probably be doubled over in loud chuckles all while slapping my knee and shouting: “Make that face again, Rob!”

Did anyone else see it? Please tell me I'm not the only one who found everything he did last night to be pulled from a scene in The Princess Bride or some other brilliant parody.
