Ugh, Why Did Anderson Cooper Feel The Need To Apologize To Teresa Giudice?!

By  |

Earlier this week Anderson Cooper graciously invited Teresa Giudice from The Real Housewives of New Jersey to appear on his talk show. Like everyone else who's witnessed Teresa's behavior on this season of the show, he felt a little disgusted with her choices.

That's not to say that anyone else on the show made better choices, but Teresa really stood out this year for being absolutely horrid — and then playing the victim card when confronted about it. Everything  always came back to other people attacking her and ganging up on her and seething with jealously at her. The Giudice family motto seems to be “well, uh, did you see what he did to me” when it comes to any problems that they create.

So Anderson (or Anders, as I've taken to calling him in my head) called her out on  saying Caroline Manzo has multiple rolls of blubber on her stomach at the upcoming Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion. Naturally Teresa's all like, “well you don't know what she did to me!” and Anders is all, “you're not in middle school, grow up!” and Teresa's all like, “gee whiz, I sure wish I hadn't dropped out of school in middle school because then I'd maybe be able to make sound and logical arguments when confronted on national TV.”

Meanwhile Joe Giudice is  allegedly hitting on some intern in the green room and telling her about the time he took a semester abroad with a family of gorillas.

However after Anderson Cooper said what everyone was thinking about Teresa, he took it all back. Or the good part anyway.

HuffPo reports:

A day after Anderson Cooper called out Teresa Giudice for bullying Caroline Manzo about her weight at “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” reunion, he invited the reality star back on “Anderson” to apologize. While Cooper stood by his criticism of her behavior and the show's constant stream of negative drama, he told Giudice he felt he had been rude in how he confronted her Wednesday, and wanted to make amends.

While I'm happy he's not taking back the content of what he said, I'm sad he's apologizing at all. Teresa Giudice needs to be called out in that way. She needs someone to stand toe-to-toe with her lunacy and tell her calmly to grow up or shut up. (I added the shut up there, not Anders.)

I mean, I'm more than happy to take on that role. But it shouldn't have to be me. I trust that Anderson Cooper can handle this correctly, you know give her the backhanded apology-smackdown that I know he's capable of giving. So I guess what I'm saying is that he should have her on the show a third time and tell her off in a kinder way.
