Rachel McAdams Nice Comments About Lindsay Lohan Will Just Make You Sad Rachel McAdams Mean Girls whatever gif

Rachel McAdams is on the August cover of Allure magazine, and in the interview she talks about her experience working with Lindsay Lohan on the Mean Girls set. You might be shocked to discover that she does not call Linds a homeschooled jungle freak or a less hot version of her. She also didn’t get hit by a bus when she said it. She’s actually not as mean as Regina George. Not even close. How could she be? She’s Canadian!

Even though her words about Lindsay possess that trademark Canadian kindness, you’ll probably emerge from this quote feeling a little down, because we’ve seen how far Lindsay has fallen since her heyday:

“If anything, I was in awe of her talent. I looked at her as this experienced actor, and she had great comedic timing, so natural.”

To be honest, sometimes I forget Lindsay is even in Mean Girls, even as I’m watching it. That’s because the girl I see on the screen is so separated from the girl we know today, with the partying and the arrests and the rehab stints and the rough appearance and the fading talent. I don’t know if I’d say I was “in awe of her talent” back then, but when you compare it to Liz & Dick, she looks Oscar-worthy. Cady Heron is definitely not at the top of my list of reasons to love Mean Girls, but I don’t watch the movie and wish someone else were in the role. Lindsay had a promising future ahead of her, and being reminded of that, when you know how things turned out, is just depressing.

Rachel also responded to rumors that Lindsay was intimidated by her on the set:

“It’s just funny to hear that because you never know what people are thinking. We all try to act like we’ve got it together.”

It’s like when Tina Fey admitted to missing the “beautiful, healthy Lindsay Lohan” from the good old days. I’m just experiencing a lot of Lindsay Lohan feels right now, guys. Don’t mind me.
