Every single day you can always expect a new scandal or headline popping up in your social media feeds about your favorite Hollywood celebs. However, while we always make sure to keep up with our favorite actors and musicians, there is always so much going on every news cycle that there's no way that we can possibly keep up with every single thing happening in Tinseltown. So you can be your BFF's go-to-gal with everything celebrity-related, we're here to give you a quick rundown of the most important stories that surfaced this week in the crazy world of Hollywood.
New Music Friday: Another Week, Another Taylor Swift Release & Sam Smith debuts new album
On Friday, a ton of new music hit the web. Taylor is taking over everything with her weekly releases. The girl is a PR mastermind. Between her and Sam Smith our ears are happy with the new releases this week!
Another Week, Another Taylor Swift Release
In preparation for the Nov. 10 release of her highly anticipated album Reputation, Taylor Swift dropped yet ANOTHER song titled “Call It What You Want.”
The song reveals details of her current relationship with British actor, Joe Alwyn, which we're all about since they've been keeping everything on the DL since the couple got together. After Taylor dropped the lyrics to the song Tuesday, fans went crazy making speculations that it was a follow up to her hit song “Love Story.”

The two songs show a few similarities leading fans to believe that “Call It What You Want” is her finally finding that “Romeo” to run away with. It pretty adorbs, huh? So here's to Taylor finally(?) finding her Romeo. We're all hoping it lasts! There were also some tidbits about the Kimye feud, which you can read all about here!
Also Swifties, tune into ABC's #TGIT on Nov. 9. According ABC News, she'll be performing ANOTHER (!!!) new song from Reputation DURING Scandal. *Gasps*
The wait is *FINALLY* over!
British singer/songwriter Sam Smith has finally released his second studio album. On Friday, Sam gave fans a thrill with his new emotional The Thrill of It All album.
The album is a follow-up to his 2014 debut The Lonely Hour which earned him four Grammys. He's been fairly quiet since them, so let's just say this record has been long awaited.
If you haven't listened to it yet, stop whatever you're doing and give your ears the pleasure of hearing this pop soul singer's voice. We've known for a while how good Sam is but this is even better than anticipated!
Selena and Justin Are Back On?
Welp! Three years after breaking off their tumultuous off-and-on relationship, it appears that Jelena is back on.
According to US Weekly, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are *officially* dating… yet again. The news comes just days after it was announced that The Weeknd and Selena broke up. The publication says that The Weeknd and Selena ended on a cordial note and that it was dramatic and had nothing to do with her reunion Justin, which has lead many to speculate that the breakup happened weeks ago but was “leaked” so that the Biebs and Sel could go out in public together. Basically, everyone just thinks the timing is a bit… curious.
Now after a little over two weeks since their big public “reunion” there have been loads of pap shots of the two riding bikes, getting breakfast, going to church, etc. You know, doing all the cute couple-y things that couples do. So we guess that’s as good as official, even without US Weekly‘s source leaking the info.
We're just hoping this time around isn't as messy as the last!
Wendy Williams Faints Live on Air
Halloween was quite the scare for Wendy Williams and her viewers this year.
During a segment for the Tuesday Halloween-themed episode of her Wendy Williams Show, the 53-year-old daytime talk show host collapsed onstage after overheating in her Halloween costume.
She was beginning her annual “How You Booin'?” costume contest when she started slurring her words and appeared light-headed. Wendy looked as if she was trying to keep herself afloat but she quickly fell to the floor while producers and assistants rushed to her aide. She would later return after a long commercial break announcing that it “was not a stunt.” She went on saying, “I overheated and did pass out, but I'm a champ and I'm back.”
She spoke to Good Morning America on Friday about the craziness of the day, “…the crew and security here thought that the bug-eyed look I gave was part of a stunt, 'cause I'm always doing tricks. This is the trick show. We're always doing tricks and stunts,” she said. “So nobody came out until I hit the ground. Then, oh my gosh, chaos ensued! The studio audience went wild!”
She said that after the show Tuesday, she was checked out by her own doctors and that they said that she was “fine.” Thank goodness because that was a close call. We’re happy that our favorite messy talk show host is doing okay!
Harry Styles Black Lives Matter Backlash
Harry Styles landed himself in some hot water with fans after not speaking on the Black Lives Matter movement during his concert.
The former One Direction member has publicly shown support for the LGBTQ community and women's equality but at a recent concert in London, when presented with an opportunity to show that same support to BLM, some fans believe that he ignored it. During his concerts, he always pulls pride flags that concertgoers frequently bring, so some fans got together and made hundreds of BLM signs for the crowd to hold during his concert — hoping that Harry would point it out and call attention to the movement. They even threw a large BLM flag onstage for him to hold… but it was ignored, he instead raised another pride flag.
Harry's fans were outraged over what they felt to be a blatant disregard of the movement and that his silence spoke for itself. Fans took to Twitter and Instagram to voice their opinions on the matter.
After the uproar, Harry posted to his Instagram a picture from the concert saying, “Thank You London.” The picture was a zoomed out crowd shot of various banners and pride flags but it’s difficult to make out any particular flag or signage.

Naturally, this riled the fans up even more, believing that he never properly addressed the issue when at that point, he would have most certainly been made aware of it.
Fast forward to a day ago. After heavy criticism, Harry posted a close-up shot from that same London crowd proudly holding their BLM posters with the caption “Love.”
While it sucks that getting called out is what pushes certain celebs to speak up on different issues, all this does is lead to a situation where he's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Now we'll never know if he did this purely from the heart or it was “damage control” and that's a sad space to be in.
That's all for this week’s installment of This Week in Pop Culture, stay tuned for a new one next week. Because while celebs may go stale, you can count on the gossip to always stay fresh.
