The List Of Topics One Direction Banned From Interviews Is Surprisingly Lame

By  |

So my favorite baby boy toys — Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan —  from One Direction allegedly have a long list of questions that they refuse to answer in interviews. Considering all the drama they deal with every day with their girlfriends, their alleged girlfriends, their alleged ability to break up marriage by dating someone else's girlfriends, I thought the list of topics would be far more risque.

But  as a Canadian radio show host revealed recently in a non-scandal scandal, they're actually pretty boring.

1. What is your celebrity crush
2. Which of you have girlfriends
3. Who came up with the name One Direction
4. Anything X-Factor related
5. Worst habits about each other
6. Do you guys fight
7. Best prank someone played on you
8. Describe each other on one word
9. Funniest fan stories
10. If not in the band, what will you be doing
11. Pre-show rituals
12. Anything about money or religion

I've seen more exciting conversation come from a rigged game of M.A.S.H and frankly I'm disappointed the boys would ban these topics. Mostly because it implies that those topics are at all interesting. I've wanted to up the ante on celebrity interviews for a long time and I think One Direction can handle the challenge.

Let's get away from the faux-risque questions like “do you guys fight” and “boxers or briefs” and delve into the heavy stuff. Like, “what do you know now about sex that you wish you knew then?” and “if you had to date one of the girls who tweeted something wildly suggestive to you today, who would it be and why?”

Interviews should tell us something new and all of these questions cover ground that the boys have surely covered a million billion times. So quit with this crap and start asking real questions about things we truly care about.

Like where would one hypothetically buy an authentic lock of Harry Styles' hair.
