The Nick Cannon And Mariah Carey Divorce Rumors Just Took A Serious Turn, So Buckle Up

I don't think the Nick Cannon/Mariah Carey divorce rumors came as a huge shock to anyone, even the four or five people out there who are upset about it for some reason. They barely knew each other before they got married, oh and also marriages in Hollywood just don't last. I mean, if Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson can't get it together I daresay I hold out zero hope for the Nick Cannons and Mariah Careys of the world. Though many media outlets are focusing on the fact that Nick Cannon is a narcissist with a wandering eye and that Mariah Carey is a narcissist who's cheating on Nick with herself, it appears as though their alleged separation might be a lot more serious than that.

According to an InTouch Weekly source (so take that however you will):

“Nick has made it clear to all involved … he's deeply concerned about Mariah's emotional state and is ending the marriage for the well-being of their kids. He believes the environment around Mariah is toxic and fears for his kids.”

According to said source, Nick is concerned about Mariah's mental health, and the emotional upset that may be causing their twins, Moroccan and Monroe. It was reported that Mariah suffered an emotional breakdown in 2001, even though her reps tried to pass her hospitalization off as “extreme exhaustion”, because of course they did.

What's concerning to me about this is  if these rumors/allegations are based on some degree of truth, I really hope media outlets proceed with a little more caution than they usually do when reporting about a celebrity divorce. As we've seen lately in the case of Bruce Jenner, who may or may not be transitioning into a woman, some websites tend to cross a line when reporting sensitive issues with celebrities. Mariah and Nick, as frivolous and annoying as we may find them, have every right to deal with any mental/emotional issues privately and respectfully, if for no other reason than their two small children will someday read all about this.
