As expected, there are hundreds of options for parties and events on New Year's Eve in NYC. Maybe you'd like to hear some music. Here are some options for concerts on December 31, 2007:

Beacon Theatre: Gov't Mule (Featuring excellent guitarist Warren Haynes of the Allman Brothers and The Dead) presents the final night of “The Winter of Love.” Click here for tickets.

Bowery Ballroom: Music legend Patti Smith and her Band will grace the stage at Bowery for the third and final night in a row. Unfortunately, if you don't already have tickets, this show is sold out.

Bowery Ballroom: Punk rockers Les Savy Fav will be playing a late show (doors at 2 am) after Patti Smith exits stage left. Get your tickets here.

Hammerstein Ballroom: Scott Weiland's band Velvet Revolver will be rocking out here. Get your tickets here.

Highline Ballroom: The Join featuring Jamie Shields & Darren Shearer (the New Deal), Marco Benevento & Joe Russo (the Duo), Junk Science, and one of my favorite local bands, The Boys & Girls Club will all be on the west side. Get tickets here.

The Knitting Factory: Blog favorites Dirty Projectors will be rocking out with Foreign Islands and “many more” at a party hosted by “After the Jump.” Text NYE to 467467 to buy tickets, or click here.

Magnetic Field: This Brooklyn bar hosts Dead Flowers Productions' New Year's Swingin' Eve with The Fleshtones, The Black Hollies, and DJ Phast Phreddie. Get your tickets here.

Maxwell's: Head out to Hoboken to hear the lovely sounds of Dean & Britta (ex-Luna members). Get your tickets here.

Mercury Lounge: If you want to get away from all the hype, this may be your best bet. Earl Greyhound and The Big Sleep rock the year away with their catchy tunes. Click here for tickets.

Music Hall of Williamsburg: The next best thing to Guns N' Roses…Mr. Brownstone, a GNR tribute band! Tickets available here.

Radio City Music Hall: Jam band favorites moe. will be jamming all night. Click here for tickets.

Sound Fix: This hip independent record store always has great free shows, so although their New Year's Eve lineup hasn't been announced yet, I have a feeling it will be a good one. Check back here next week for details.

Southpaw: Awesome DJ trio The Rub will be playing dance tunes all night at this Park Slope club. Click here for tickets.

Studio B: If you want to dance the night away, head to Brooklyn to hear '80s legend Slick Rick The Ruler and Kudu along with various DJs, including Moby and The Bangers. Get tickets here.

Terminal 5: This very large, very new venue will host gypsy rockers Gogol Bordello for what is sure to be a riotous good time. Click here for tickets.
