New Year’s Eve In New York City–Musically

Of course there are dozens of options for New Year’s Eve 2010. Here’s a musical guide:

  • Patti Smith is at Bowery Ballroom (sold out).
  • Chuck Berry is at B.B. Kings at 8 pm and 11 pm.Tickets are $98.
  • Mariah Carey is at Madison Square Garden. Tickets starts at $20.10 and go way up from there.
  • Passion Pit DJ set plus “Special Guest Live Performance” at Piano’s. Tickets are $60 with a 3-hour open bar (10pm -1 am) and champagne toast.
  • Obits and Eli “Paperboy” Reed and Subway Soul Club are at The Bell House. Tickets are $30.
  • Fischerspooner will be at Irving Plaza. Tickets are $45, $50 the day of the show. VIP tickets are $150 and include access to the (RED)ROOM — meet the artist, get a (RED)NIGHTS series T-shirt and other collectible merchandise.
  • Soulive at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Tickets are $32.50. VIP Ticket Includes: recording of show, signed poster, meet & greet, champagne toast (21+), commemorative RAGE pass laminate and access to the VIP section.
  • Dean & Britta are at Southpaw at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $20.
  • The Felice Brothers are at Southpaw at 10:30 pm (sold out).
  • Mstrkrft is at Webster Hall. There will be a balloon drop, “Dazzling fire displays, 4 massive floors featuring 8 of New York City’s best DJs, Live Broadcast of the Ball Drop in Times Square on 40 LCD screens around the club and largest High Defintion LCD Video Wall in NYC, Shane Savant’s GoGo Rama, Stilt walkers, Snake Charmers, and Magicians. Plus Thousands of sexy partyfreaks and shocking visual displays found nowhere else!” Champagne toast and party favors. Tickets are $75, or $145 and up for VIP. Or you can jsut get a $60 ticket for the After Hours Party, which included Mstrkrft’s performance.
  • Lee Burridge at Santos Party House. Tickets are $125 and it includes an open bar from 10 pm to 3 am.
  • Antibalas at Knitting Factory Brooklyn. Tickets are $25.
  • Detroit Cobras and The A-Bones are at Mercury Lounge at 8 pm. Tickets are $25.
  • Titus Andronicus and The So So Glos are at Mercury Lounge at 1:30 am. Tickets are $15.
  • The Word at Terminal 5. Tickets through December 30 are $40, they go up to $50 the day of the show.
  • Gov’t Mule at Beacon Theater. Tickets are $59.50-$84.
  • Disco Biscuits at Nokia Theater. Tickets are $69.
  • Project Jenny/Project Jan is at Union Hall. Tickets are $20 in advance. $25 day of show.

Update! Just announced:

  • Q-Tip, Dam-Funk, Pimps of Joytime, and DJ Concerned will all be at Brooklyn Bowl. $30 Tickets go on sale today at noon, they go up to $35 after December 19, and are $40 the day of the show.
