NeNe Leakes Might Get Her Own Spinoff, Because We Need More RHOA

NeNe Leakes at PaleyFest for The New Normal March 2013Ugh. Is anyone else feeling overwhelmed by the omnipresence of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta lately? Not only is it on six months of the year, but it already has two spin-offs and now it might be adding one more. The first is Kandi Factorywhich follows RHOA star Kandi Burruss as she tries to help shape music industry unknowns into billable performers, and the second is Don't Be Tardy… which follows former Housewife Kim Zolciak around as she tries on wigs and complains about her life. (I'm just assuming that's what happens on the show, since I haven't made time to watch it myself. One of our other writers did, though, so feel free to catch up on it here if you like K-named ginger-babies and whining. And who doesn't?) Anyway, even that was a lot to take, but now it turns out we'll be getting a whole new spin-off courtesy of our lady of catchphrases, Miss NeNe Leakes.

The show will follow NeNe as she gets re-married to her ex-husband Gregg Leakes, with the genius working title of I Dream Of NeNe: The Wedding. Oh boy. It will premiere this fall and is described thusly in a press release:

Fans have gotten up close and personal with the couple during The Real Housewives of Atlanta watching them through a happy marriage, a devastating divorce and a romantic reconnection. The stars have aligned and the Leakes are ready to tie the knot once again in an extravagant wedding fit for a larger-than-life personality like NeNe. […] Alongside NeNe is her bridal party, including Cynthia Bailey and Marlo Hampton, who will surely bring a fair share of drama and fabulousness to the classy affair. NeNe wants to start her second marriage to Gregg with a clean slate, including mending fences with Gregg’s children and reuniting with her father figure Curtis. Will they be able to move forward and celebrate her big day? With A-listers from coast to coast, including Housewives galore and the Hollywood elite – will the invitees make the trek to the “Hollywood of the South” to witness her second chance at happily ever after?

Well? WILL THEY?!? As wearying as it is to imagine yet another hour-long chunk of my time being stolen by RHOA, NeNe totally is the best of the bunch, so I guess I'll probably have to find some time to tune in. But only to find another line as classic as, “Don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you.” Genius.
