Miley Cyrus Gave Up Her New Dog, Which Is Really The Most Responsible Thing She Could Have Done

A couple of weeks ago Miley Cyrus' beloved dog Floyd passed away. She was heartbroken over it, and she shared her grief on social media and in concert. In order to help her deal with the loss, Miley's mom Tish made a frankly pretty irresponsible decision and got her daughter a new puppy. It was clear from the get-go that this was the wrong way to deal with the loss. Miley herself tweeted at the time that she didn't know if she was ready to love another dog yet.

Then this weekend Miley tweeted the news that she gave the cute little puppy, named Moonie, to a new owner, saying it's “too soon” for her. You might be thinking it was the wrong decision to have the dog in the first place, and you'd be right. But let's remember first of all that it wasn't Miley's idea to get the dog, and giving it up is actually the most responsible thing she could have done in this situation. Here she is explaining the reasoning to a fan:

By “what happened,” she could be referring to the way Floyd reportedly died — in a coyote attack. It could also be a reference to a tragic incident in 2012 when her dog Ziggy killed her small dog Lila. Either way, it's nice to know that Miley is thinking about these things, and choosing to put Moonie's safety and happiness first is the most mature decision she could have made. Here's another tweet to drive that home:

Considering Miley is busy on tour now, already has other dogs, and just lost Floyd a matter of weeks ago, having a new dog makes little to no sense. It's good to know Moonie will be somewhere safe.
