Michelle Rodriguez Just Totally Outed Cara Delevingne By Confirming She’s Dating Her
I'm all about celebrities feeling comfortable enough to come out of the closet — let's keep that slow clap going for Ellen Page — but I do get a weird little feeling in my stomach when people get outed in a way they have no control over, like Michelle Rodriguez just did to Cara Delevingne.
As you may recall, Cara and Michelle were spotted out at a basketball game a while ago, drunkenly falling all over each other's mouths in between vaguely cheering on the Pistons and the Knicks. I guess you could technically call that proof of a blossoming relationship if you wanted, but as someone who has attended her fair share of college parties, mostly it just looked like two ladies getting sloppy in public to me. Nothing really official one way or the other, especially since Cara had recently made out with Miley Cyrus, I figured she was just doing her twenty-one year old thing.
But according to Michelle, it's not quite the casual court side romp that we all initially pictured. She says that the two of them are dating and that it's going super great actually, thanks for asking.
“It's going really well. She's so cool. When we started hanging out I just thought she was awesome, and we have the best time together. She's hard though. You wouldn't want to mess with her in a fight.”
Like I said, I have absolutely no issue with anyone's sexual orientation, but if anyone's gonna respect the privacy of someone in the LGBT community, I'd expect it to be Michelle Effing Rodriguez. After all, it took her forever to come out as bisexual, and it only happened after years of denial and bulling her way back into the closet after a 2007 interview mistakenly outed her.
Especially considering the annoyance and speculation that she had to go through herself, and the fact that she's fourteen years older than Cara, I just would've expected Michelle to let her handle that in her own time, in her own way.
Or just…blow up her spot big time. I guess that works too.
