Lindsay Lohan Swears Under Oath She Had A Miscarriage, So Things Are About To Get Real

Lindsay Lohan wearing sunglasses on trip to London May 2014Lindsay Lohan is now swearing under oath that she had the miscarriage she talked about on her Oprah docu-series, and with the penalty of perjury on the table, the stakes are about to get a whole lot higher in this situation.

When LiLo first revealed on Lindsay that she'd had a miscarriage, I wasn't sure what to think. It was certainly convenient timing to explain away some flakiness during filming on her part, but it's also a very tragic thing that happens far too often, so I didn't want to be lacking in compassion in the event that she was telling the truth. But either way, this is Lindsay Lohan we're talking about. I figured it was just one of those things that she gets to say, and while we can all have our private doubts about it, we never get any real answers.

Until now. As you may or may not be aware, Lindsay is currently being sued by D.N.A.M. Apparel Industries, with whom Lindsay was supposed to collaborate for her 6126 clothing line. They were supposed to be the manufacturers for the line, but the deal fell apart, causing Lindsay to sue D.N.A.M. for the $1.1 million she'd missed out on from the licensing fee. But they came back at her with a lawsuit for $5 million, alleging that her ‘drug-addled image' was the reason the deal collapsed, and that it had done harm to their brand's reputation to be associated with her.

This was all originally going down last year, but Lindsay was given a reprieve because she was back in rehab again at the time. (Oh, the irony.) But when she still failed to respond to the lawsuit upon her release, she lost the case, and she's contesting the ruling in new court documents in which she says:

“I have been overwhelmed since leaving rehab and dealing with my sobriety and a miscarriage.”

It's unclear whether having a miscarriage would release her from the responsibility of responding to the lawsuit, but the most important fact here is that she's now sworn to it in legal documents. That means that if it turns out Lindsay did lie about the miscarriage to get sympathy for her irresponsibility, that she could face jail time for perjury.

Which…is actually kind of fitting, y'know? If this girl is gonna go to jail for one thing, shouldn't it be lying? After all her evasions and excuses, I for one would find a certain satisfaction in seeing her finally getting called out for a legitimate falsehood. JUSTIIIIIIIICE!
