Lindsay Lohan Is Denying Doing That Kode Interview, But They’re Standing Their Ground

By  |

Remember that Lindsay Lohan interview I wrote about yesterday? The one for Kode Magazine that claimed she admitted to sleeping with a married man, insulted Barbara Walters, and — oh yeah! — was drinking vodka on the rocks throughout. That interview. Well I think I may have just gotten to the bottom of it.

I was suspicious as soon as I read it that someone was misrepresenting themselves big time, and my assumption was Kode, since I'd never heard of them before in my life. And you know who agrees with that assessment? Lindsay's rep, who issued the following statement to E! yesterday:

“We have no comprehension on why a journalist would fabricate this content and distribute it in such an irresponsible way. Lindsay never spoke to any journalist at Kode. The interview was completed via email.”

Yeah, I have no comprehension on why a journalist would do that either. So maybe they…didn't? It's just a theory, but hear me out. Here's what the magazine's editor-in-chief, a man named Allan Troy Watson, had to say in his statement:

“I have sworn testimonies that it took place that back up everything.”

A statement echoed by his executive editor, Jacob Simon, who adds:

“Yes, the interview took place and everything stated in the article is fact and came directly from Lohan herself. And we have photos chronicling the writer and Lindsay's numerous times together.”

It seems pretty clear that someone is lying, right? But that doesn't make sense, because the magazine would have nothing to gain from completely fabricating an interview that they're going to have to retract anyway. So I dug a little deeper into Allan Troy Watson, and I think I may have solved the mystery.

On his personal Instagram account, he has a ton of photos of Lindsay. Pictures of her at Coachella, of her dressing room at The Ellen Show, candids, mirror selfies, television appearances, and the list goes on. Not photos that an interviewer or even a fan would have — photos that look like they could only have been taken by a friend close to LiLo.

But they only go back about a month, so here's my theory. I could be wrong, but it's the only explanation I can think of where everyone's telling the truth. Or a version of it, at least.

If Lindsay and Allan Troy Watson stayed in contact after her cover shoot — which definitely took place because there are numerous photos and videos that prove it — maybe they formed a friendship. We know from Instagram that he was accompanying her to appearances and even styling her, much of the time, so there's a possibility that she let her guard down in front of him and shared information that she believed to be off-the-record.

There's probably no reason that Lindsay would've through to ask Allan whether her casual comments would be included in the magazine's interview, because, as her rep claims, she believed she'd already answered all the official questions via email.

But it would explain the conversational tone to the quotes, the revealing details they contain, and Allan's assertion that he has witnesses to the conversation. In my mind, these quotes could have come from an evening with friends, everyone sitting around drinking and sharing stories, with no idea they'd end up in a magazine.

It's just a theory, but wouldn't it kind of explain everything I've already said so far? It'd be a way that Lindsay could be quoted for saying those things without actually ever giving a verbal interview. And it would explain even more, like when the interviewer wrote, “The last time I saw Lindsay would be as she made her way into the second day of the Coachella festival with a vodka filled Evian bottle.” Well the photo above is from Allan's personal Instagram, and his caption is:

So if she was carrying a water bottle filled with vodka around, he'd certainly be in a position to know. And simultaneously in a position where she likely wouldn't mind telling him. I have no idea if any of this is accurate, but it's the only situation I can think of that makes anything close to sense.
