Lifetime Wisely Greenlights ‘The Client List’ TV Show Starring Jennifer Love Hewitt

In what is basically the opposite of The Good Wife, Jennifer Love Hewitt will reprise her role of beauty-queen-turned-housewife-turned-hooker in the TV version of Lifetime's amazingly bad movie The Client List. We adored this bad cautionary tale when it premiered in 2010, so we're ecstatic that we have even more chances to see J Love strut around in her prostitute outfits and twangy Texan accent. All for the good of her family!!

It sounds like the series (which doesn't premiere til 2012) is taking the general frame story and running in a fairly different direction:

The Client List is about a Texas housewife (Hewitt), who, after being deserted by her husband, takes a job at a seemingly traditional day spa in a neighboring town but realizes that the parlor offers way more than massages and ends up partnering with the parlor’s feisty and disorganized owner to run the business. The series will follow her as she balances two starkly different lives — one as a single mom in a conservative town struggling to provide for her family and the other as a savvy and ambitious businesswoman working with a rowdy, sexy and unpredictable group of women.

In the movie, Hewitt played a woman pushed to the edge of her morals because her family desperately needed the money. Here it seems like she just wants a more exciting lifestyle. Does that mean we won't get to see a re-do of the infamous scene where she tries to make her kid's birthday cake while high on coke?

Check out this compilation to see how amazing Hewitt's character is at compartmentalizing, and how willing she is to shake her assets in any man's face to provide for her kids. Oh, and she helps improve her clients' sex lives with their actual wives. This is going to be the best show.
