Oh Nothing, Just Liam Hemsworth And His Dog Imitating Miley Cyrus

Sometimes I forget that Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus used to be a couple. And not just any couple, but an engaged couple. They already had such opposing personalities when they were together, and since their breakup Miley has only become more over-the-top, while Liam has become so low-key that he’s practically nonexistent. But the photo Liam posted on Instagram yesterday of himself and his rescue dog Tani reminded me both of his existence and his past relationship with Miley.

By now you’ve seen the photo (it’s right there at the top of the post) and can probably guess why I thought of Miley. That whole tongue-out-of-the-mouth look is kind of her thing, to the point where I expect it to one day literally escape her mouth and slither away like a snake. That thing should get a “featured” credit on everything Miley does.

I’m not saying Liam did this as a purposeful reference to his ex. After all, he captioned the photo “It’s hot,” and dogs stick their tongues out to cool off. But I wouldn’t be surprised if, when Tani did this, Liam had some Miley flashbacks. It’s okay, Liam. I’ve had them too. Sometimes I wake in a cold sweat after a nightmare about her foam finger. Just take a few deep breaths, and it’ll all be okay.

Now that we’ve gotten the requisite Miley talk out of the way, can we just take a moment to discuss how absolutely adorable Liam and Tani are? That photo up there should go in the Cute Photos of Celebrities and Their Pets Hall of Fame. You know, if that existed. Liam just got Instagram a few weeks ago, and he’s only posted eight photos so far, but two of them have included Tani. He knows what the people want. Here’s one he captioned “My special girl.”

I’m going to need more of this content immediately, Hemsworth. Don’t disappoint me. P.S. Glad you’re no longer sporting that ’90s cut.
