The Kardashians Were Texting During The VMAs’ Ferguson Tribute, Because Of Course They Were

This is how bored they were DURING A SONG.

For people who had zero percent business being at the Video Music Awards last night, the Kardashian-Jenners sure couldn't be bothered to look interested. Kim Kardashian and Kendall and Kylie Jenner were actually caught on camera texting during the show's Ferguson tribute, which is a new low — even for them.

Again, I couldn't begin to tell you what these three were even doing there. At first I thought Kanye West must have someone gotten himself a plus-three instead of just a plus-one, but the dude wasn't even there, so what the eff? Were we really that desperate for guests that we had to invite a coven of reality stars, not a single one of whom has ever been anywhere near a recording studio? (Oh god, now that I've said that, I just got an eerie premonition that Kendall's going to try to come out with an album.)

Anyway, for most of the show they were just prominently-breasted seat-fillers, bobbing their head along unenthusedly to some of the biggest hits of the year. Literally the whole thing is a giant concert where very little happened aside from Nicki Minaj holding her dress together and Blue Ivy destroying our ovaries with cuteness, so you'll forgive me for thinking they might have a little attention span to spare for a Ferguson tribute. They did not.

During Common‘s speech acknowledging Mike Brown of Ferguson, and asking for a moment of silence to honor his wrongful death, one of the audience cameras picked up the Kardashian-Jenner clan texting. As in, every single one of them was texting at the same time. Not even talking to each other or all crowding around the same phone — individually texting from three different phones during one of the only moments of this event when you actually had to pay attention. Classic.

I mean come on ladies, as soon as we saw you in the audience, we knew you were going to be complete tools about this, so the least you could have done is paint eyes on Kim's (EXTREMELY PROMINENT) boobs so that she at least looks like she's paying attention while the rest of you post selfies with the caption “Can't wait to meet Ferguson he sounds hot.”
