Kevin Spacey And Julia Louis-Dreyfus Dress Like Each Other’s Characters, Terrify The Masses

Kevin Spacey Julia Louis Dreyfus Entertainment Weekly covers August 2014

Guys, the world is getting scarier and scarier every day. TV commercials creep me out on a daily basis, music videos feel like bad drug trips half the time, and the Internet consistently lets me know things exist that I wish I could scrub from my brain. And now I'm not even safe picking up a magazine. The new issue of Entertainment Weekly features two covers, one with Kevin Spacey and one with Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Except they're dressed like each other's TV characters. To say I'm frightened by it would be quite the understatement.

I just… WHY? Well, I know why, sort of. They both star on critically acclaimed series about politics, Kevin Spacey on House of Cards and Julia Louis-Dreyfus on Veep. Also there's the fact that (spoiler alert) both of their characters ended up becoming president at the end of last season. And they also happen to both be part of the magazine's list of the “25 Best Characters on TV Right Now.” So yeah, it makes sense to do some kind of tribute to them on the cover. But why must it frighten me so?

When I first saw the photos, I was convinced it was a joke someone on the Internet was playing, like those pictures where they take the man and the baby's heads and switch them. Or when everybody was changing the faces on Kim and Kanye's Vogue cover. But then I realized that not only were they the official covers, but they also weren't Photoshopped. It's the kind of thing that makes you do a double, then triple, then spit take while your eyes bug out like a cartoon character and then your head explodes. Okay, maybe that's going a little too far. Take out the spit take.

While I won't be pinning these covers to my wall, I will at least give props to Kevin Spacey for rocking that wig and pearls with such confidence.
