Justin Bieber Reveals The Boring Reason He Cried After His VMAs Performance

Justin Bieber 2015 VMAs crying

Last night Justin Bieber appeared on The Tonight Show wearing a hat to cover his amazing new hairstyle. Do you think he heard what everyone said about it and feels self-conscious? He wore what appears to be the same hat during his performance at the VMAs on Sunday. You know, the performance where he cried. You might have been wondering what that was all about. Did the harness he was wearing hurt his private parts? Did he suddenly remember the ending of The Fox & The Hound? Justin explained his emotional reaction to Jimmy Fallon. Get ready to yawn and/or roll your eyes.

Even though he admits that wearing a harness “pulls on the junk,” that apparently wasn't the reason he broke down. Instead, he was moved by the audience's support: “I just wasn't expecting them to support me in the way they did. Last time I was at an awards show, I was booed.” He then launches into what feels like an hour-long therapy session, featuring references to how hard he worked on his new music and “feeling judged.” Then at the end he adds that “it was authentic. It was real.” I don't know about you, but that's all the proof I need to know that it was bullshit. Funny how that works, huh?

Speaking of bullshit, Bieber also explains his past behavior, and as usual he's very reluctant to accept personal responsibility. Instead he blames the people he hung out with (“What it was is that I had a bunch of knuckleheads around me; that was pretty much it”) and the presence of cameras. When the audience laughs at the implication, Bieber asks incredulously, “You guys saying you didn't have those moments?” It's crazy, right? It's almost like people are capable of following the law and respecting other human beings and learning from their actions. What a world.
