John Mayer’s Throat Problems Are Back And His Tour Is Canceled

John Mayer has announced he's canceling his spring tour after discovering his throat granuloma has grown back, crushing the dreams of his fans and the proposal plans of that guy who first made-out with his girl friend to “Your Body is a Wonderland.”

John noted in his blog that the only way to help the granuloma heal is to give his vocal cords a rest. This obviously means no concerts, but I wonder if humming along to the car radio or some really mellow shower singing is allowed. Most music fans do a little solo karaoke in their day to day life that might be tough to give up, and it must be even tougher for a professional musician to cut out singing completely. His blog announcement wasn't hopeless but still sounded pretty depressing with John saying, “Though there will be a day when all of this will be behind me, it will sideline me for a longer period of time than I care to have you count down.”

Mayer fans still have his new album to look forward to, Born and Raised will be out May 22nd. In the mean time I hope the singer feels better.
