Celebrities Reading Mean Tweets About Themselves Never Gets Old
Last night Jimmy Kimmel premiered another star-studded episode of his hit segment Celebrities Read Mean Tweets. As always, it's glorious. Downright wonderful. The fun kicks off immediately with Selena Gomez reading a tweet from an anti-fan who hates her music and only escalates from there. Before long we get to see Anderson Cooper, Adam Scott and even Look Who's Talking Now star Kirstie Alley read tweets from people who hate them.
As someone who frequently receives my very own NSFW hate-tweets, I completely understand how these celebrities feel. Honored! Despite having the entirety of the internet before them, someone took a moment to remind you that you're the worst. And it's someone you've never even met. A complete stranger! It's like the cherry on top of the stranger danger sundae that might get you featured on Law & Order:SVU one day.
It's hard to imagine, but when our parents grew up they had to hand write their hate mail, stick it in a mailbox and wait 3-5 days for the celebrity to receive it. We're lucky enough to live in a world where you can express your disgust with someone immediately. And we're even luckier to live in a world where these celebrities see your disgust and read it aloud on a TV show . If this isn't what Mufasa was trying to explain to Simba with that whole circle of life metaphor, then I don't know, maybe I need to rewatch the movie
But with no further ado, the best video you'll see today.
